Eric Tan has over 20 years of experience at the Malaysian Bar, focusing on dispute resolution matters. He is well known to be engaged in matters involving corporate and commercial law.
Eric has on numerous occasions been engaged to deal with matters involving disputes amongst shareholders and directors in both private and public listed companies. Such briefs include minority oppression, breakdown of relationships and breach of fiduciary duties. At the commercial front, Eric also handles matters arising from contractual disputes, trusts and fraud.
Eric is also well-versed in corporate rescue and insolvency law. He actively advises corporations on debt restructuring exercises. He also represents insolvency practitioners such as liquidators or receivers (and managers) on matters involving recovery of assets.

Representative matters
- Advising Drawbridge Technologies (M) Sdn Bhd (“DT”), a shareholder of AD&M Global Sdn Bhd (“AD&M”) in a suit brought by AD&M for a sum of MYR1.809 million. The matter was eventually settled for a much lower sum of MYR347,000.
- Advising Erdasan Group of Companies on a series of questionable transactions in 2020 - 2021.
- Successfully advising Advancecon Holdings Bhd in a boardroom dispute brought by a minority shareholder.
- Successfully seeking a discharge of liability for a client who was a personal guarantor for a debt by utilising the corporate rescue mechanism provisions of the Companies Act 2016.
- Successfully advised a liquidator in obtaining a consequential order in a stalled liquidation process.
- Representing clients in a boardroom dispute concerning the appointment of a lawyer in commencing a suit.
